Hypodermic needle disposal
It is illegal to dispose of your used hypodermic needles in your regular garbage. Place all “Sharps” (e.g., syringes and needles) in a rigid container that is one gallon or less in size.
Ask your health care provider if you can return your used Sharps to his or her clinic. If that is not possible then bring your full container to Seattle’s north or south disposal stations for disposal at no charge.
If you are unable to travel to a disposal station, please call the solid waste division at 206-716-1310, extension 10, for a free pick up of your Sharps container.
